Growing up, we never travelled. Not for lack of desire, but because of our pets.

We had dogs, cats, reptiles and rodents all at once. Every time we needed to go somewhere, the same exhausting question came up: who's looking after everyone? Kennels were expensive. Catteries stressed our outdoor cats, animals who'd never been

confined a day in their lives, suddenly locked inside with strangers. There wasn't a facility that would even take our reptiles. Not one place.

The Moment Everything Clicked

I watched my family turn down vacations, weeks away and even jobs because of the guilt and the logistics of it all. The pets were loved deeply, but they came at a cost that went beyond the bills. I remember thinking: If this is what we're experiencing, there must be so many others. People who love their animals completely but still need to live their lives, travel for work, take a holiday and work late without the guilt of knowing nobody has checked on their cat.

There had to be a solution, I just hadn't found it yet.

So I Built One

I studied Animal Management and Science, covering everything from dogs and cats to reptiles and birds. I worked in kennels, groomers and dog daycares across the industry. I trained in canine behaviour at Level 4 and worked alongside professional behaviourists. I wanted to understand every species, every temperament and every need. I wanted to become the person I wished my family had when I was growing up.

Even after all of that, none of those places solved the original problem. Your pet is still somewhere unfamiliar, surrounded by strangers, completely out of their routine. And honestly? You can see it in them when you get back.

That's what led me to in-home pet sitting. The idea that your pet doesn't have to go anywhere at all. That they can stay in the home they know, sleep in the spot they love and keep the routine that makes them feel safe. It sounds simple because it is.
